Which is harder: scoring goals or stopping them?

Attacking gets the praise, but organising a defence is just as difficult.
Which side of the game is harder to get right, and what makes you say so?

Scoring goals always feels like it requires that extra bit of individual magic or a sudden moment of inspiration, whereas stopping them is usually about ninety minutes of pure discipline. One mistake at the back costs you the match, but a forward can miss three sitters and still win it with a late tap-in. That said, from a betting perspective, backing clean sheets stresses me out way more than going for goals. You can set a team up in a low block all afternoon, but one lucky deflection or a dubious VAR penalty ruins the whole defensive structure in a second. Makes you wonder if it is less about defensive difficulty and more about how harsh the refs are these days.
