Which signing would actually fix your club's biggest weakness?

Every club has one obvious gap. Put your recruitment hat on: which position is the real problem for your team, and what type of player (not just a name) solves it?

Give us the role, the profile, and why it changes how the team plays.

For clubs struggling against a high block, the primary recruitment target shouldn’t just be a holding midfielder who recycles possession safely, but rather a press-resistant controller who actively invites the opponent's first line of pressure before releasing the ball. The profile needed is a player with exceptional scanning habits and body orientation on the half-turn, capable of receiving passes facing their own goal while under immediate physical contact. When a team secures someone who can manipulate that pressing trap through micro-movements rather than hurried clearances, the entire structure shifts. Suddenly, the opponent's midfield is forced to second-guess jumping out of their block, which naturally creates deeper pockets of space between the lines for the creative number eights to exploit. Does anyone else think recruitment teams undervalue those micro-movement traits compared to raw physical metrics?
