Moderation Policy & Enforcement Guidelines

boots · 5 Nov 2026

### 1. Purpose

Pitchside Forum aims to provide an open, welcoming and fair environment for sports fans, bettors, cryptocurrency enthusiasts and the wider community.

Our moderation policy exists to protect the quality of discussions, maintain trust between members and ensure that community rules are applied consistently.

We encourage open debate, criticism and different opinions. Moderation should focus on behaviour and rule violations, not whether moderators agree with someone's opinion.

### 2. Moderation Principles

All moderators are expected to follow these principles:

- **Fairness:** Apply the rules consistently, regardless of a member's status or reputation.
- **Transparency:** Where practical, explain why content has been removed or action has been taken.
- **Proportionality:** Match the severity of the action to the seriousness of the violation.
- **Neutrality:** Do not favour particular members, businesses, casinos or commercial partners.
- **Accountability:** Moderation decisions must be recorded and open to review.
- **Freedom of discussion:** Legitimate criticism, disagreements and controversial opinions should not be removed simply because they are unpopular.

### 3. Types of Moderation Actions

Depending on the circumstances, moderators may take the following actions:

**A. Informal reminder**

Used for minor or accidental violations. The member is reminded of the relevant rule.

**B. Official warning**

Issued for more serious or repeated violations. Warnings should identify the behaviour and the rule involved.

**C. Content removal or editing**

Posts, topics, images or links may be removed or edited when they violate community rules.

Where practical, members should be informed of the reason.

**D. Temporary restrictions**

Members may temporarily lose posting privileges or access to certain sections.

**E. Temporary suspension**

Accounts may be suspended for a defined period, depending on the seriousness or frequency of violations.

**F. Permanent ban**

Reserved for serious misconduct, including scams, phishing, threats, impersonation, malicious activity or repeated major violations.

### 4. Suggested Enforcement Guidelines

The following is a general framework. Moderators may consider the circumstances and seriousness of each case.

Violation | Typical action
Accidental duplicate post | Reminder or removal
Posting in the wrong section | Move topic or reminder
Repeated spam | Official warning or suspension
Unsolicited advertising | Removal and warning
Personal insults | Warning or temporary restriction
Harassment or threats | Suspension or permanent ban
Fake reviews or deliberate manipulation | Suspension or permanent ban
Scamming or phishing | Immediate suspension or permanent ban
Ban evasion | Extended suspension or permanent ban

Serious violations do not require multiple warnings before action is taken.

### 5. Reporting Content

Members are encouraged to report content that appears to violate the community rules.

Reports may involve:

- Spam or unsolicited advertising.
- Harassment or abusive behaviour.
- Fraudulent activity or suspicious links.
- Fake reviews or manipulated ratings.
- Impersonation.
- Privacy violations.
- Other suspected rule violations.

Reports should be reviewed by an authorised moderator. Reporting tools must not be used to harass other members or silence legitimate criticism.

### 6. Moderator Responsibilities

Moderators are responsible for:

- Reviewing reported content.
- Enforcing community rules fairly.
- Removing prohibited content.
- Issuing warnings where appropriate.
- Keeping moderation records.
- Escalating serious cases to administrators.
- Avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Treating members professionally.

Moderators must not use their privileges to settle personal disputes, promote businesses or unfairly target members.

### 7. Casino and Sportsbook Discussions

Pitchside Forum welcomes discussions about casinos, sportsbooks and gambling platforms.

Moderators must not remove legitimate complaints or negative reviews simply because they concern a commercial partner or advertiser.

Casino representatives should be allowed to respond to criticism and present their side of a dispute.

Where a complaint involves serious allegations, moderators may request supporting evidence and encourage members to distinguish between verified facts, personal experiences and opinions.

Moderators are not responsible for determining the legal liability of a casino or resolving financial disputes.

### 8. Commercial Relationships and Conflicts of Interest

Pitchside Forum may have advertising, sponsorship and affiliate relationships with businesses discussed on the platform.

These relationships must not influence moderation decisions.

- Advertisers do not receive special moderation privileges.
- Sponsored businesses cannot demand the removal of legitimate criticism.
- Moderators must disclose relevant conflicts of interest to administrators.
- Any request to remove content should be assessed against the same rules applied to everyone else.

### 9. AI-Assisted Moderation

Pitchside Forum may use AI systems to assist with moderation.

AI tools may help identify:

- Spam and duplicate content.
- Abusive or threatening language.
- Suspicious links.
- Potential scams.
- Manipulated reviews.
- Repeated rule violations.

AI systems may flag content and recommend actions. Serious decisions, including permanent bans and disputed complaints, should remain subject to human review.

AI-operated accounts must be clearly identified as AI.

### 10. Appeals

Members who believe moderation action was unfair may appeal.

Appeals should:

- Identify the moderation decision being challenged.
- Explain why the member believes it was incorrect.
- Include relevant supporting information.

Appeals should ideally be reviewed by an administrator or a moderator who was not responsible for the original decision.

Repeated abusive or frivolous appeals may be restricted.

### 11. Moderator Accountability

Moderation actions should be recorded, including:

- Member account affected.
- Date of action.
- Relevant rule.
- Reason for the decision.
- Action taken.
- Moderator responsible.

Administrators may review moderation decisions and reverse actions where appropriate.

Moderators who repeatedly misuse their privileges may have their permissions removed.

### 12. Final Statement

Moderation exists to protect the community, not control its opinions.

Pitchside Forum welcomes honest criticism, lively debate and different perspectives.

Our objective is to maintain a platform where members can speak freely, businesses can respond openly and everyone is held to the same standards.
